Libby and Kemper | July 20 | Spar City, Creede

Libby and Kemper hit it off right away once they connected after a match on one of those awesome dating apps. Libby’s daughter thought his dogs were adorable and wanted to meet them. They would message nonstop with friendly banter that is hard to find.

During their messages, they could talk about anything. Libby knew Kemper was the one when he still wanted to date after they discussed things like her having a daughter (Precious), her cat and her BIG dog. A lot of people wouldn’t have been so kind. She also loved that Kemper was always engaged in the conversation and replied within a reasonable lifestyle timeframe.

Kemper said he just had a gut feeling that she was the one for him because she is so kind and caring.

They fell madly in love as a family over the course of about a year. That was when Kemper decided he didn’t want to wait to make Libby his bride. He decided to take Precious with him on the ring shopping adventure. They picked out an enchanting ring together, further making an excuse to go over to her parents’ house.

Every year, Libby’s Dad makes Shepard’s Pie for New Year’s Eve. It wasn’t until after dinner that they suggested Libby do the dishes – usually Precious’ chore. Libby told me she felt offended by this, so she wasn’t too observant. Kemper got impatient and said, “really, you don’t see it?” Around the corner was the ring box! She immediately said yes, and they started planning!

Libby knew just the place for their wedding. Her family has had a cabin located in Spar City for generations that she has always loved. It has such  cool history. “It is my little slice of heaven away from the busy city and work schedule! I haven’t missed a summer in Spar City yet, and I don’t plan to,” said Libby. So, they started planning for that summer, July 20th. It felt like so far away when they set the date in January, but realized quickly it doesn’t feel that long once you start planning a wedding.

It was an absolutely beautiful day! We could see the storms brewing over the mountains, but it never came over to their wedding. They found a new wedding site in Creede, called The Stables. The owners converted an old horse stable into a stunning event center. It has lit vaulted ceilings, a dressing room and everything you need for both indoor and outdoor events for up to 100 friends. They are wonderful to work with and truly want your day to be special. Anyone looking for an event center near Creede, where a lot of the details are part of the experience, should look at The Stables.

The wedding went without a hitch. During the toasts, everyone spoke about how kind, sweet and caring they are, simply what a wonderful human being Libby is. Precious even played the music for the ceremony, which made everyone tear up. She is very talented.

To Libby, Kemper and Precious; may the friendly banter and spontaneous moment always find their way in your years.
