Jon & Cassie Elope at South Clear Creek Falls

Cassie and Jon first met when they were in seventh and eighth grade, but they didn’t start dating until they were almost finished with their high school careers.

Many things have kept them together over the years. Cassie told us that her favorite thing about Jon is that he has confidence within him where he is unapologetically himself, and naturally, his sense of humor!

On the outside, their proposal may not seem like a huge to-do, but to them, it was perfect. One day he simply looked at her and said something like “let’s get married, we’ve been together 12 years!” And just like that, they were engaged.

Planning their wedding, they decided on a charming elopement, in an exquisite location all by themselves. Coming from Chicago, they found an Airbnb yurt that had access only by 4x4 to stay near the beautiful South Clear Creek Falls, in Creede Colorado. They had never been to Creede before but believed it would be delightful to get married in the Rocky Mountains by a waterfall.

June 14, 2022, became their elopement date and everything fell into place. They loved the idea that they would have a full moon the night of their elopement.

Naturally, Colorado happened to be experiencing a heat wave, so it was sunny and HOT, but the couple handled it with grace. We parked and hiked to the waterfall. Cassie hiked in boots and changed into cute sandals once we arrived at the South Clear Creek Falls.

Ooh La Spa located in Creede, Colorado did a fantastic job on Cassie’s hair the morning of their elopement. She made her own beautiful bouquet out of lovely silk flowers that were just perfect for the day and something they can keep as a memento.

Cassie and Jon share so much love, laughter, and acceptance of one another. Truly a beautiful couple. May your lives together be filled with joy; and let any hardship you may experience only bring you closer together.
